Begin

I have done a bit of traveling in the last year. I sailed from Lower Matecumbe Key, FL to Wharton Creek, MD with a friend. That was after spending the summer in the FL Keys. Last October, I took an ill-fated road trip to Madison, Wisconsin (from Pittsburgh). This year, I flew to Chicago, and drove from there to Wisconsin again, then on to Cedar Falls, Iowa. I have just started to expound upon the miniscule, often bullet-listed observations I jot down while on the move. Most of my impressions of places are colored with my personal biases, various states of mind and affect, and limited view of said places. My personal reflections on the people and interactions I have witnessed, then, will be the most accessible and universal parts of the blog—not to discredit the physical descriptions. There is just much more to be seen, I believe, in the people that live in a place, and reflect the conditions of their environment. Looking in my rear view mirror, I’m going to relive some of the beautiful, scary, awkward moments of the last year, which represent only a fraction of my travels.
